Six Dreamy Places to Stay in Cornwall

Saturday, 3 June 2017

With Summer just around the corner and everyone's thoughts turning to how to make the most of those hazy sunshine-filled evenings to come, I thought I would pick out a few of my favourite Cornish destinations for a little bit of wistful holiday dreaming!

I've gone for a mix of getaway styles, everything from paired-back rural glamping to super posh airbnb's, so there should be something here that catches your eye! Ooh- and I've also tried to include the price for each one, just in case you feel as tempted as I do to hurry and book a few places up!

So, without further ado, here are my six picks from across the county...

1. Melody Farm Shepherds Huts
Carnon Downs

If you fancy a rural glamping getaway with that little touch of luxe, Melody Farm can offer you the best of both worlds! Set in the grounds of The Emerald, a boutique zero-carbon holiday destination just outside of Truro, the farm's two shepherds huts offer visitors a secluded getaway set in the midst of gorgeous Cornish countryside.

Price: both Shepherd's Huts are priced at £630 a week.

How sweet does the Juniper hut look?

I just love the attention to detail and the quality of craftsmanship that's gone into making these huts look so polished (+yet so cosy!)

Look at the size of those cups! Mega hot chocolates to be had here, that's for sure.

2. Riverside Cabin
Constantine, near Falmouth

A hand-built wooden cabin sat in the middle of a bluebell-filled forest and surrounded by a babbling stream? You can count me in.

Perfect for couples or small families that want to explore a bit of wild Cornwall or simply have a quiet stay in a super secluded location. (Psst- spot the swing!)

Price: £105 a night.

Pots and pans aplenty.

A cosy little wood burner (which, according to reviews, the owner will often prepare and light for you before you arrive!)

3. Boconnoc House

Okay, so this one may seem like the insane Pride and Prejudice country estate of your dreams but, guess what? You can actually stay here! For the princely sum of £2036 a night, you and up to seventeen of your friends can live it up like the aristocratic darlings you are at heart... you just have to find those seventeen people! Here's something that might sway them however -there's a film projector in the library!

*I've done the maths by the way and, if you did manage to find seventeen people willing to join you, it would work out at just £113 a night each!*

Simply stunning.

4. Padstow Creek

If grand country estates aren't really your thing, how about heading down to Padstow and hunkering down in one of these pretty little Cornish glamping pods?

Price: £65 a night.

An essential item on any holiday!

You can also bag yourself a £20 BBQ bundle kit during your stay to roast your dinner over the fire pit.

5. The Sea Room

Only accessible by a paddle across the water, this renovated boat house is an idyllic little hideaway perched on the edge of St Austell bay.

Price: £1284- £1980 a week, depending on the season.

The owners have done the utmost to bring the outside in- imagine throwing those French doors open on a balmy Summer's evening and sitting on the patio with a glass (or two) of wine!

How gorgeous is that?!

That essential log burner for those wild and chilly evenings by the coast!

6. Cornish Tipis
St Kew

And finally, if you fancy really getting away from it all, you might want to take a look at the lovely Cornish Tipi Holidays just outside of Bodmin.

With tents dotted around a 20-acre woodland valley and encompassed by a wild lake, I'm sure you could have proper Swallows and Amazons-type adventures at this site!

Price: £80 a night per person.

Sit by the lake with a cuppa or go for a morning swim with the rainbow trout- the choice is yours!

Firepit meals are positively encouraged here. So you can get that bacon crackling anytime you want!

Look at that for a sight to wake up to!

And that's all folks!

I hope you've enjoyed my little round-up of sweet and cosy places to stay in Cornwall. I'd love to know if you've stayed anywhere special down this way- there certainly are a lot of dreamy, hidden away holiday locations in the South West, so be sure to share your secrets in the comments below for us all to hear!

In the meantime,
All my love,

Sian x

  1. I can't get over how dreamy these places look! I've always wanted to stay in a cabin hidden away in a Cornish location. The places you've shared look so beautiful, I especially have my eye on the Sea Room which looks like it has the most perfect views! I'm visiting Cornwall this Summer so I might have to see if I can spot any of these places :)
