He bought a 7ft artificial tree which took up half the living room! All the kids had to sit on the floor all through Christmas as we had to take out one of the sofas to fit it in. We had a wonderful time though & the kids (adults now) still talk about it!

  105. My fave Christmas memory is from when I worked at Walt Disney World in Orlando. I had the day off work along with a friend and we cooked Christmas dinner from about 8 others from the UK - no turkey as we didnt trust ourselves to cook a turkey but we did have 2 chickens, mash, carrots and gravy plus dessert. For some reason we couldnt buy christmas crackers anywhere so we made our own out of paper and filled them with tootsie rolls and jolly rancher candies and home made hats. After dinner we all exchanged our silly santa gifts - we had a limit of $5 per person to spend ( as we all had no money as we weren't working in tipped roles) and we had all bought really stupid gifts for each other which we loved and played with until the early hours - think balloon animal making kits, those little army men with parachutes, the cardboard glider planes and so on. It was actually really awesome especially as we were all missing our family, friends and homes and kinda dreading Christmas without them
